Chris Konovaliv, a Michigan native, relocated to the Bay Area in 2004. After many years working in the recording industry, he commenced his studies at Mills College, working primarily with field recordings and creative production. He has subsequently realigned his focus towards interactive electronics based installation. With his work, Konovaliv explores physicality and its interaction with the participant while placing importance on the detachment of the viewer from the artists’ history, preconceptions, and biases. The goal of his work is to no longer require the spectator to reprocess the information presented in order for it to become their own.

Konovaliv earned a BFA in Performing Arts & Technology from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Fine Arts in Electronic Music and Recorded Media from Mills College.

He is currently working as a freelance post-production audio mixer at Current TV, building websites, and trying to ride his bike a minimum of 20 miles a day.
